How We Select Creators
Straight answers about what “Top” means here, how profiles get in, and how the numbers on every page are produced.
What “Top” means
“Top” is our brand positioning — the name of the directory — not an independently audited ranking. Nobody buys their way into the editorial list, and no profile’s order is a certified measurement of influence. Within those honest limits, we work hard to make the selection genuinely useful.
The four selection criteria
- Category relevance. The creator’s public content clearly serves one of our ten categories.
- South Florida connection. A verifiable tie to the region — based here, creating here, or covering it consistently. Specific cities are only shown when publicly verified; otherwise a profile is labeled “South Florida / Multiple Areas.”
- Content quality. An active, original public feed that a local audience actually follows.
- Publicly verifiable information. If we can’t verify it from public sources, we don’t print it.
How follower counts work
Every follower count in this directory was read from the creator’s public Instagram profile, and is stored with its source and the date checked (the current directory was checked on Oct 20, 2026). Counts are never scraped on a schedule, never described as “live,” and never invented. When a count can’t be verified, the profile says “Not yet verified” — an unknown is never shown as zero. A creator’s following is also global; we never claim it is entirely local.
Listing statuses
- Editorially listed — selected by our editors from public information. This does not imply the creator endorses or is affiliated with this directory.
- Creator-claimed — the creator verified ownership and can keep the profile accurate. Claims require verification and administrator approval.
- Sponsored — a paid placement, always labeled “Sponsored.” Paid placement is kept separate from verification and editorial selection, and never changes a follower count.
Every profile in the directory today is editorially listed. None are claimed or sponsored yet.
Corrections and removals
Public information changes. Every profile carries a Suggest a Correction form, and creators can claim their profile from the same page. If you are listed and would rather not be, contact us through a profile’s correction form and we’ll take care of it.
Want in?
Creators can apply to get listed; businesses can send an inquiry. Selection stays editorial either way.
